At Whitton Aikido Knighton, we offer you the opportunity to come along for a free taster session to find out if Aikido is for you. Aikido is a traditional Japanese martial art, a way of self-defence and self-development, using throws, joint locks, sword and staff techniques. Aikido uses the strength, momentum and aggression of the attacker rather than relying on being stronger, fitter or faster oneself. Aikido training is in a friendly, non-aggressive, non-competitive environment, where you train to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of your own body and movement, developing a deep understanding of how the body works and how this power can be used most successfully.
