Hartlebury Castle ready to welcome back visitors

Hartlebury Castle is welcoming visitors back into its magnificent buildings, as indoor venues reopen from next Tuesday.

Set in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside Hartlebury Castle is the perfect place to escape with family and friends and enjoy a refreshing change of scenery. There's plenty to do inside and out, as you discover the stories of the Bishops of Worcester and the Castle's 1000 year history, explore fascinating stories of the county in Worcestershire County Museum and relax as you take a walk around the tranquil grounds.

In addition to much loved features, including its talking portraits and Gypsy wagon collection, there will be new additions to the visit such as a captivating audio guide telling the stories of those who lived and worked at the Castle, and a new family area with fun, entertaining activities to keep children enthralled.

The Castle have also added a new outdoor nature trail using Culture Recovery Funding. Families can explore the open spaces as they find out fun facts and try to spot the Castle's wildlife, look out for painted animals around the grounds, and learn how they engage with nature at home.

"We're so excited to welcome visitors back inside the Castle." Says Steve Bagnall, Director for Hartlebury Castle Preservation Trust. "It's been a difficult year, but we've used the time to create exciting new features, offering a great day out for all the family." He added "Thank you to everyone who's supported us through the past year. Your help and donations have kept us going and we look forward to seeing you at the Castle soon."

Manager of Worcestershire County Museum Rachel Robinson says, "We are really pleased to be able to re-open and lucky to have lots of space both inside and outside at Hartlebury Castle. We know that many people have missed their days out during lockdown and we look forward to welcoming them again, for a safe and enjoyable visit."

Hartlebury Castle has been awarded Visit Britain's "We're Good To Go", the official UK mark to signal that it follows Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, assuring you of a safe and secure visit, while you still have a wonderful day out.

Hartlebury Castle reopens on Tuesday 18 May. Opening hours are Tuesday – Friday 10am – 5pm, and weekends 11am – 5pm. Last entry is 4pm.
