Welsh Conservatives are calling for urgent action following confirmed cases of Bluetongue in Monmouthshire and Powys.
Local MS Peter Fox says the outbreak is deeply worrying for farmers already under pressure from bovine TB and rising costs.
Shadow rural affairs secretary Sam Kurtz warned the disease is hitting farmers financially and urged the Welsh Government to offer immediate support.
Bluetongue poses no risk to humans but can be fatal to livestock.
