Nine “modest” new homes could form part of a company’s expansion plans in a Herefordshire village.
Commercial vehicle garage and recovery firm Tech Trucks UK also plans to put in 18 small business units on its three-hectare site at the Old Sawmills, Eardisley, south of Kington.
The seven two-bedroom and two three-bedroom detached and semi-detached houses would “provide modest homes for local families” in line with the area’s housing market need, the company’s application says.
For its own use, the company intends to build a new industrial unit, MoT building, wash bay, ramps and access road, enabling it to take on seven more full-time staff, four in the workshop, three in the office.
The site is earmarked for mixed development in the village’s neighbourhood plan. Much of it is currently used to store commercial vehicles associated with the business.
Pre-application discussions between the company and Herefordshire Council “confirmed broad support” for the development, while neighbouring properties and the parish council have also been consulted, its application says.
An area to the north of the site near the village primary school would be given the parish council to provide 23 parking spaces for public use.
Comments on the application, numbered 222710, can be made until October 27.
