A local school has raised money by holding a charity talent show.

The evening raised £1,422 for Hope Rescue, a charity which saves stray and abandoned dogs in South Wales.

Olaf stole the show as staff at Haberdashers' Monmouth Schools raised the roof in The Masked Singer competition at The Blake Theatre.

Miss Jess Griffiths, a Mathematics teacher and resident tutor, took first place in the hugely entertaining event that raised £1,422 for Hope Rescue, a charity which saves stray and abandoned dogs in South Wales.

A packed audience enjoyed the singing talents of members of staff, disguised as cartoon characters, on Saturday 1st July.

Each number had brilliant backing dancers from D4motion except Sonic, who had a fabulous group of staff dancers for support.

Well done to all the students and members of staff who took part in the evening.

The singers were: Mario: Mr Mark Coffey; Woody: Mrs Marie Roberts-Watkins; Elsa: Mrs Caroline Jones; Sonic: Mr Gerry Stentiford; Tigger: Mr David Edwards; Tinky Winky & La La: Mrs Kate Lewis and Mrs Alison Hutchings; Olaf: Miss Jess Griffiths; Upsy Daisy: Ms Rhyan Parry.
