Maternity services across Gwent are feeling the pressure due to a shortage of midwives.
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board said its experiencing a high number of births and short term staff absence due to sickness and self-isolation.
Maternity units at Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny, Royal Gwent Hospital, Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr have been temporarily closed.
In a statement, Judith Paget, Chief Executive said: "These temporary arrangement will allow us to redeploy our midwives to The Grange University Hospital, where all births will be temporarily directed."
"We apologise to the small number of expectant mothers who will be affected by the change."
The health board confirmed the measures will remain in place until 8am on 18th October.
