Monmouth School for Girls finished runners-up in Hockey Wales’ National Under-14 Schoolgirls Finals.
The girls played superbly throughout the day in Swansea, achieving four comprehensive wins, before being pipped 1-0 by Glantaf in the final.
Monmouth topped their pool after impressive victories against Bishopston (2-0), Rydal Penrhos (3-0) and Bro Dinefwr (5-0).
The girls swept past Christ College Brecon, 3-0, in their semi-final.
Monmouth dominated possession for the majority of a nail-biting final against Glantaf.
Despite creating lots of opportunities, Monmouth couldn’t break through and Glantaf hit the only goal to clinch the title.
The Monmouth girls dazzled in their four run-away victories and were wonderful ambassadors for the school, following on from the under-18 team who triumphed in their national finals the previous week.
