Herefordshire Council has a new initiative to help county residents keep warm with funded surveys and tailored energy efficient improvements to households with the new Home Energy Savers initiative.

The Home Energy Savers initiative, available across the Herefordshire area, is targeting households with an income above £36,000 per annum, and/or with disposable income available to spend on measures for their homes.

Home Energy Savers consists of a free in-home assessment, survey, and installations provided by council partners Evolve Home Energy Solutions. A tailored upgrade plan is created to help eligible households understand how their property loses heat and wastes energy. This plan then sets out appropriate packages of options for measures suited to each household.

This scheme is running alongside Keep Herefordshire Warm, the highly successful project managed by YES Energy Solutions currently helping and engaging customers with free energy advice.

Herefordshire Council has funding available to support households and Home Energy Savers is delivered in partnership with community interest company YES Energy Solutions and Evolve Home Energy Solutions Ltd.

Cllr Elissa Swinglehurst, Cabinet Member Environment, said: “Working in partnership with the Council, the Keep Herefordshire Warm advisors are on hand to support residents every step of the way to understand how to improve their homes and lower energy bills. The scheme will lead to home energy assessments and installations of energy efficient measures such as insulation and low carbon technologies including solar panels and heat pumps.

“The council is covering the full cost of the surveys and plans and can also provide funding to support the cost of the measures depending on income thresholds.

“The Keep Herefordshire Warm scheme has already helped Herefordshire residents save an average of £500 per year through the YES advice services, so it is fantastic to see it being extended to the ‘able to pay’ demographic through the Home Energy Savers initiative.”

Herefordshire residents can contact the Keep Herefordshire Warm advice team run by YES Energy Solutions to begin saving energy with a 100% free home assessment from Evolve Home Energy's experts.
