A new ‘Care Heroes’ website has been launched to encourage people to take up the opportunity of working in adult social care in Herefordshire.
The website is part of a campaign to help care providers recruit more staff.
An ever growing aging population means that there’s an increased need for more care professionals in the local community.
The website provides information about the benefits of working as a care worker and links to job opportunities. There are also videos of real life Herefordshire care heroes talking about their experiences of making a difference in the community.
The site will be a one stop shop for the county’s social care vacancies. It will open up caring as a rewarding profession, which provides plenty of opportunities for training and progression to young people, parents, and people of retirement age, and to those who may not have considered working in the care sector as a career choice before.
There are currently vacancies available within the residential, nursing, community and day service areas working with older people and people with disabilities.

Cllr Jonathan Lester, Leader of Herefordshire Council, said: “This new Care Heroes website aims to be the go to site for anyone interested in working in social care in Herefordshire. The site showcases care provider’s employees talking about their positive experiences of working in the sector, as well as signposting people to the exciting opportunities available in the care service across the county.”
