A woman has died following a serious crash on the M5 in Worcestershire.
Emergency services were called to the M5 southbound, between junction 5 for Wychbold and 6 for Worcester at around 1:30pm.
The collision involved two vans and a lorry. Sadly, the driver of one of the vehicles has died as a result of his injuries.
Superintendent Stuart Bill of West Mercia Police, said: “The road is currently closed and is likely to remain so well in to the evening while the scene is cleared and investigations take place. There are currently long delays on the M5 as well as on surrounding local routes.
“We are working closely with colleagues from the ambulance service, fire service and National Highways to manage the congestion.
“We ask that motorists bear with us and are patient as we manage the incident and work to re-open the road. In the meantime, we ask that you please avoid the area and find alternative routes where possible.”
