A Worcester man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder connected to terrorism

31-year-old Callum Parslow is also accused of possession of a knife.

It follows an incident in which a 25-year-old man was stabbed twice in the chest at the Pear Tree Inn near Hindlip.

The hotel had been used to house migrants for three years but was closed three months ago for refurbishments and was due to be reopened for the public.

The victim was said to have previously lived at the hotel as an asylum seeker and visited to speak with one of the workmen at the property, according to the Daily Mail.

Parslow appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court earlier where he did not enter a plea to the charge of attempted murder connected to terrorism, and pleaded not guilty to the knife charge.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey on 26 April.
