300 carved pumpkins light up the village for two magical evenings of Halloween fun in aid of selected charities.
Linton prepares to Light Up the Village with more than 300 pumpkins Wednesday 28th & Thursday 29th October 2026 | 5pm–8pm The beautiful village of Linton, near Ross-on-Wye, will come alive this Halloween as more than 300 carved pumpkins light up the village for the much-loved Light up Linton community event. Taking place on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th October, from 5pm to 8pm, the event invites families, friends and visitors to take a magical walk through the village and admire the amazing pumpkins, many of which have been lovingly carved and displayed by local volunteers. There will be food and drink available from Hanks, the Alma and Cotswold Crumb, along with competitions, prizes and plenty of Halloween fun. The event is proudly supported by local businesses and brings the community together while raising money for three fantastic local charities. Sponsor a Pumpkin One of the special features of Light up Linton is the opportunity to sponsor your own pumpkin for a suggested donation of just £5. Sponsors can have a dedication displayed in front of their pumpkin. These can be messages of thanks, the names of loved ones, special messages or simply something fun. Visitors often enjoy walking around the village trying to find their dedication among the hundreds of illuminated pumpkins, making it a lovely and personal part of the evening. Supporting Local Charities Light up Linton is a community event organised with the aim of raising money for three amazing charities: EnviroAbility provides people from disadvantaged groups with real work opportunities and experiences that are valued and visible within the wider community. Girlguiding Herefordshire provides an empowering environment where girls can grow in confidence, develop new skills and build friendships. Walsingham Support has been supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, brain injuries and complex needs for 40 years. Donations from Light up Linton will support Pound Farm in Gorsley and Creative Learning, the day opportunities centre in Ledbury. The organisers are extremely grateful for any donations that can be made to support these three worthwhile causes. Get Involved If you would like to sponsor a pumpkin, the suggested donation is £5. Donations can be made by finding Light up Linton on GoFundMe, or by popping into The Alma. Visitors can also follow the Light up Linton Facebook page for updates about the event and information about how to get involved. With hundreds of pumpkins, glowing displays, food, drink, games, prizes and plenty of Halloween atmosphere, Light up Linton promises to be a magical couple of evenings for the whole community.
