The Bomb Squad are on site in Fordshill Road in Rotherwas.
West Mercia Police were called to the location after a potential suspect explosive was found.
Bomb disposal experts from Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) are on scene.
Several businesses in the area have reportedly been evacuated as a precaution.
Chapel Road and Fordshill Road at Rotherwas have been closed.
