Hereford & South Herefordshire would be among 220 seats falling to Reform UK if an election were held now, according to new polling.

The YouGov poll, conducted on February 2-3, puts Nigel Farage’s party on 25 per cent, one per cent above Labour, with the Conservatives on 21 per cent.

This would make Reform the largest party nationally, but short of an overall majority.

Most of its gains would be at the expense of Labour, including many seats in its urban north of England and south Wales heartlands, according to mapping by political analysts Stats for Lefties.

In July’s general election, the Conservative Jesse Norman held off a strong challenge in the city from Labour to hold the seat with a majority of 1,279. Reform UK’s Nigel Ely came third with 18 per cent of the vote.

YouGov’s poll meanwhile leaves the Greens’ Ellie Chowns as MP for North Herefordshire, with the party gaining two more seats nationally to add to the four it won in July.
