A Monmouthshire headteacher has planted a tree to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Headmistress, Mrs Jessica Miles, has planted a beautiful tree to mark The Queen's Platinum Jubilee at Monmouth School for Girls.

Mrs Miles planted a Rowan Mountain Ash, which grows berries and will help feed the birds, in a new garden area created by the estates team.

Mrs Miles said: "Our new Rowan Mountain Ash tree is beautiful, and we cannot wait to see it grow and flourish.

"We are delighted to be supporting The Queen's Green Canopy (QGC) project, which has seen thousands of trees planted across the UK in commemoration of the monarch's 70 years of service."
