Police have arrested a man after a woman and child were seriously assaulted in Hereford this morning.
Armed officers were called at 3.08am this morning to a report of a serious assault in a property on Hunderton Avenue in Hereford.
A woman in her 30’s and a child sustained serious injuries and have been taken to hospital by ambulance where they are both receiving treatment. Both are said to be in a critical but stable condition.
Detective Inspector Mark Peters from West Mercia Police said: "A 27-year old man from Hereford was arrested shortly afterwards near to a car sales premises on the A49 on the city ring road. He is currently in police custody.
"We would like to reassure residents this is currently being treated as an isolated incident and a number of enquiries are ongoing. A scene guard remains in place at the location."
