An application has been made to allow a convenience store in a Herefordshire town to stay open 24 hours a day.
Samy Limited has applied to vary the licence at 38 High Street, Kington, the former Ashby / Nisa shop, to permit food and alcohol sales 24 hours a day including Christmas Day and Good Friday.
The Middlesbrough-based company already operates 32 convenience stores and petrol station forecourts, branded variously as Budgens, Spar, Londis and Premier stores.
A spokesperson for the company confirmed local reports that the Kington shop will operate as a Morrisons Daily. Morrisons was asked to confirm this.
Morrisons has expanded considerably in the convenience store market in recent years, and now has over 500 Morrisons Daily shops.
Comments on the Kington application can be made on Herefordshire Council’s licensing webpage until October 18.
