Police have issued images of two men they wish to speak to in connection with burglaries at two hotels in Shropshire.

The first incident took place shortly after midnight on Monday 4 August, when offenders forced entry into the Clive Arms in Ludlow. Although damage was caused, nothing was stolen.

Around two hours later, at approximately 2.30am, the Castle Hotel in Bishops Castle was also broken into. On this occasion, offenders made off with around £500.

The men captured in the images are described as being around 50 years old and are reported to have spoken with Liverpudlian accents. They are believed to have been travelling in a black MG6 Golf or a similar-looking vehicle.

PC Joshua Young, who is leading the investigation, said: "We believe these two incidents are linked. We have carried out a number of enquiries and we are now appealing to the public to help identify the two men we would like to speak to."

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Young on 07866 996293 or by email at joshua.young@westmercia.police.uk, quoting incident numbers 28 and 135 of 4 September.

Information can also be shared anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
