One of the motorcycles collided with an oncoming Land Rover and the rider suffered significant injuries but they are not thought to be life threatening.
PC Lee Palmer from the Herefordshire Operations Policing Unit said: “We would like to hear from anyone travelling on the A44 around that time who may have witnessed the collision, or may have dash-cam footage from that time that could help with our investigation.
“We would also like to hear from a number of drivers who may be witnesses, including the driver of a white van who was travelling in front of the convoy of motorcycles who turned off onto Woodland Way and who may have information that can help us.
